KOHIMA — The Directorate of School Education, Nagaland, on Thursday, announced a revised schedule for school working days, effective immediately.

A notification to this effect was issued by the Principal Director of School Education, Thavaseelan K, stating that the new policy aligns with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) 2023 and follows consultations with stakeholders.

As per the revised schedule, applicable to both government and private schools under the department, all Saturdays will now be designated as holidays for students in the Foundational Stage (Classes A, B, 1 and 2) and Preparatory Stage (Classes 3 to 5).

In addition to regular academic days, schools have been given the flexibility to organise 10 ‘bagless days’, assessments, examinations, non-academic activities and sports events on Saturdays, based on each school’s context, it said.
