Neiphiu Rio pays tribute to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary

DIMAPUR — Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary in New Delhi on Friday.

“Attended a prayer meeting in Delhi on the 6th death anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The historic statement he made during his visit to Nagaland in 2003, recognising the unique history and culture of the Nagas, was a defining moment in the relationship between the Nagas and rest of India,” he wrote on X.

The CM also shared a photograph of him with the former prime minister during the latter’s visit to the state nearly 21 years ago.

It may be mentioned that top Indian leaders including President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar and others paid tributes to the former PM.
