NDPP Kohima region celebrates Pre-Christmas
KOHIMA — Kohima region of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) on Wednesday celebrated Pre-Christmas at Chatsa in Kohima, which was hosted by Salhoutuonuo Kruse, minister of Horticulture and Women Resource Development, and Dr.KekhrielhoulieYhome, advisor of School Education and SCERT.
Addressing the party men and women, pastor of Phezoucha Baptist Church, KeduoneituoYhome, reminded that Jesus Christ was born to liberate people from darkness and give them power to overcome sin and death.
Yhome elucidated that Jesus Christ was born to redeem mankind and give salvation to whoever believes in him.
Explaining the meaning of “Immanuel” (God with us), the pastor exhorted the gathering to truly appreciate and exhibit the spirit in fellowship and celebrate Christmas true to its sense.
“Jesus opened the way for those who believe in his attributes of being omnipotent, omniscience and omnipresent,” the pastor said, adding that mankind has the way to heaven through Him.
Meanwhile, Kruse greeted the party workers and said it is a time for both young and old to anticipate and look forward to celebrating Christmas. She urged the people to be reminded of God’s love and celebrate Christmas meaningfully.
Dr.Yhome highlighted the social and political situation during the time when Jesus Christ was born. He stated that Jesus, led by love, advocated that all are equal in the sight of God.
He also advised the party workers to have inclusive mindset in politics and have broadmindedness so as to uplift the weaker sections of society by being in government. He further advised the party workers to carry forward the message of love as shown by Jesus Christ and be reminded of the same during Christmas season for the development and progress of the state.
The programme was led by PrasieliePienyü, president of NDPP Kohima region, while songs were presented by Kenei Metha and Keziah Semy and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by KedoulhoulieHuozha, working president of NDPP Kohima region.
