National Voluntary Blood Donor Day Observed in Mokokchung
MOKOKCHUNG — The Mokokchung District Blood Donors Association (MDBDA), in collaboration with the 12 Assam Rifles, observed National Voluntary Blood Donor Day on the theme ‘Share life, give blood’ at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital conference hall, Mokokchung, on Tuesday.
Lanuakum, deputy chairman of the Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), the guest of honour for the event, in his address, proposed a collaborative effort between the MDBDA and the Blood Bank of Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) to organise regular blood donation events.
He emphasised the need to raise mass awareness about the life-saving impact of blood donation, which would encourage more people to participate in such initiatives.
He also expressed optimism that these efforts would help alleviate the ongoing blood shortages in the district and assured the gathering of MMC’s commitment to support MDBDA and the Blood Bank in their mission.
Following the formal programme, a mass blood donation drive was conducted. Lanuakum, along with MMC councillors, donors from 12 Assam Rifles and other voluntary blood donors, participated in the blood donation drive.
