Nakhro inaugurates community hall in Kohima

Kohima, May 13 (EMN): Member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Keneizhakho Nakhro, inaugurated a community hall-cum-car parking lot at New Market Colony in Kohima on May 13.
The facility was inaugurated in the presence of KMC administrator, Lanusenla Longkumer; president of AKMWP, Thejao Sekhose; representative of other wards; panchayat leaders and colony residents. The project was a venture of Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSDCL) and New Market Ward under the Smart City Mission.
Speaking at the inauguration programme, Nakhro congratulated the CEO of KSCDL and New Market Panchayat for successful construction of the building and urged the residents of New Market Colony to work towards improving the area. He also urged the other ward leaders in Kohima to work with the Smart City team in developing the areas for better facilities and contribute towards the development and uplift of the city.
Presenting a technical report, Therouvituo PienyĆ¼, executive engineer of Municipal Affair and additional in-charge of KSCDL, said the project was sanctioned under slum area up-gradation as one of the pilot projects of Areas Based Development (ABD) of Kohima Smart City Mission funded by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. He informed that the project is a four-storey building with an area of 308.68 sqm and constructed at an amount of INR 2.4 crore.
The official informed that the work was issued to M/s Viu Angami and Sons at 5% below SOR 2018 on January 8, 2020, and was completed in November 2021.
A speech was also delivered by chairman of New Market Panchayat, Rokobizo Nyusou, wherein he acknowledged the pioneers and elders of the colony and all the government agencies for their support.
The programme was chaired by Kezhochole Rhetso, deputy director of Urban Development and general manager of KSCDL, while a song was presented by members of New Market Youth.
