Nagaland University celebrates contributions of sanitation workers
DIMAPUR — Nagaland University celebrated the contributions of sanitation workers during the Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivir (Safai Mitra Security Camp) as part of Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 on Tuesday.
The event took place at I Ihoshe Kinimi Hall in Lumami, with Prof. JK Patnaik, Vice Chancellor, as chief guest, according to an update.
In his address, Prof. Patnaik emphasised the vital role sanitation workers play in maintaining cleanliness and fostering a positive environment at the university. He urged them to embrace their responsibilities and carry out their duties with diligence, highlighting how their efforts can steer the university towards a brighter future.
Additionally, he administered the Swachhata pledge and distributed Suraksha kits to the sanitation workers in recognition of their hard work.
Angunuo Khieya, Deputy Registrar, Finance Section, enlightened the attendees about various government schemes that could benefit everyone in general and sanitation workers in particular.
She focused on entitlements related to housing, electricity, water, health, food, ration cards, and banking, encouraging everyone to take advantage of these opportunities.
