Face tough challenge in Col. C K Nayudu Trophy against Goa

DIMAPUR — In the match between Nagaland and Saurashtra played on Tuesday in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy 2024-2025, Nagaland suffered a defeat.

Played at C K Pithawala Ground in Surat, Nagaland, batting first, posted 50/8 in their 20 overs, according to an update from the Nagaland Cricket Association.

Alemienla was the top scorer for Nagaland with 11 runs, while N Chavda from Saurashtra took 2 wickets for 6 runs.

Saurashtra successfully chased down the target in 7.5 overs, reaching 51/2, with Umeshwari Jethva scoring an unbeaten 21. C D Charmy took 2 wickets for 10 runs for Nagaland.

Nagaland’s next match in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy will be against Jharkhand on October 24 at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat.

Meanwhile, in the Col. C K Nayudu Trophy underway at Sovima Cricket Ground, in which Nagaland is playing against Goa, after Day 3, Nagaland trails by 95 runs.

Earlier, Goa scored 459 in 122 overs in their first inning, with Shivendra H Bhujbal contributing 164 runs and Chittem Devankumar adding 80. Anil Gupta took 3 wickets for 80 runs for Nagaland.

Nagaland responded with 257 in their first inning, with Mughavi Sumi top-scoring with 56 runs. Shadab Khan took 3 wickets for 87 runs for Goa.

In their second inning, Nagaland finished the day at 107/3 after Mughavi Sumi was dismissed for 57. Yugi and Vishal Sahani remain unbeaten at the crease as Nagaland continues their fightback.
