DIMAPUR — Secretary of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, Y Renbothung Tsopoe, has called upon all the staff of Nagaland Secretariat to be dedicated and perform their assign responsibilities in accordance with the government’s orders.
Tsopoe stated this during an introductory programme of the 52nd batch of the Nagaland Secretariat Service recruit-cum-general body meeting held at the Secretariat conference hall in Kohima on October 11. While welcoming the new recruits, he reminded that Nagaland Civil Secretariat is the administrative hub or nerve centre of the state government.
Describing NSS cadres as the backbone at the secretariat, he called upon the members to perform and deliver their assigned duties in accordance with the office memorandums and orders and also be updated with all the important notifications.
Tsopoe also reminded the members that serving the public should be the motto of all government servants as each one of them were recruited by the government. He further emphasised on complying with the government’s orders and to attend training programmes to deliver better service to the government.
Delivering the welcome address, NSSA president, Chubasangla Longkumer, encouraged the members to have the spirit of initiating things and be innovative. She added that they should start looking beyond their files and ignite the spirit of inquisitiveness and look into the areas which might require their attention wherever they are placed.
Also highlighting on the workplace initiative called ‘Mekhela Wednesday,’ she encouraged all the women employees to take the movement forward in order to add value to themselves and to the service that they are serving. She also called on the men folks to join the movement and wear something traditional on Wednesdays.
Vedezo Nienu, representative of the new batch, expressed pride to be part of the prestigious service, which according to him, was supposed to be the custodian and repository of all the rich traditions precedence and rules. He also thanked the NSSA executive members for welcoming the new batch to the family.
The assistant secretary of NSSA, Hosea Seb, chaired the programme, while a song was presented by NSSA music club.
