Nagaland receives INR 270.51 cr. as advance instalment for tax devolution

Dimapur, Jan. 20 (EMN): The Ministry of Finance has released INR 270.51 crore as an advance instalment of tax devolution for Nagaland government on Thursday.
A statement from the Finance Ministry informed that the Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman had authorised the release of an advance instalment of tax devolution to state governments.
It informed that a total of INR 47,541 crore had been released to the states on Thursday and with the release of the advance instalment, a total amount of INR 95,082 has been released to the states during January 2022.
It was also stated that with the release of the advance instalment, states would have received an additional amount of INR 90,082 crore under tax devolution over and above what has been budgeted to be released till January 2022.
‘This is in line with the commitment of Government of India to strengthen the hands of states to accelerate their capital and developmental expenditure to ameliorate the deleterious effects of Covid-19 pandemic,’ it stated.
