Nagaland receives INR 2298.17 lakh for Angawadi workers

Dimapur, Feb. 12 (EMN): The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), government of India, informed that an amount of INR 2,298.17 lakh was allocated for Anganwadi workers in Nagaland for the year 2019-20.
And as on December 31, 2020, Nagaland state has utilised a total central fund of INR 45,415.56 lakh for all components including procurement of Smart phones. This information was given by the Union Minister of Women and Child Development, Smriti Zubin Irani, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Friday, a PIB report stated.
She stated that Angawandi workers are empowered with the provision of Smartphone procured through government e-Market for efficient services. She also informed that the ministry has been pursuing with states to saturate access to smart phones for Angawandi workers and have recently, in states review meetings, taken up the issue again.
She stated that a total of 8.66 lakh smart phones have been procured by 32 states and union territories adding an amount of INR 6.42 lakh has been provided to Angawandi workers across 27 states.
