Nagaland receives 75,654 refilled LPG cylinders under PMUY

Kohima, Sep. 16 (EMN): The Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan, informed about the LPG cylinders distributed under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) during the novel coronavirus crisis through a written reply at the Rajya Sabha on September 16.
A report from the PIB stated that PMUY commenced with effect from May 1, 2016, to provide deposit free LPG connections to adult woman of poor households and the target of the same was achieved on September 7, 2019.

According to the report as informed by the union minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, a total amount of INR 9,670.41 crore was spent by the industry on free refill scheme under PMGKY and a total of 13,06,87,807 refilled cylinders were delivered against PMGKY advance given to the beneficiaries during April 2020 to August 2020 .
In Nagaland, an amount of INR 5.93 crore was spent on free refill scheme and delivered 75,654 refilled cylinders to beneficiaries from April-August 2020. Uttar Pradesh had the highest beneficiaries and Chandigarh the lowest.
