Nagaland police rescues kidnapped labourer from Pfütsero; 2 accused arrested
DIMAPUR — A combined police team from Kohima led by SDPO (North) and assisted by Phek Police rescued a construction labourer from Pfütsero, in a night operation conducted on April 23.
The operation was activated on receiving a complaint that a labourer from Kohima was kidnapped on April 22, by unknown miscreants on the pretext of hiring to construct a house.
“Subsequently, the kidnappers started demanding INR 5 lakh as ransom money for release of the hostage,” the Kohima Police informed in an update.
Supported by technical input, the police operation also successfully nabbed two accused persons belonging to a Naga political group. In this regard, a case has been registered in North Police Station and further investigation is on, the PRO informed.
