Dimapur, Nov. 10 (EMN): Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) has strongly condemned the shocking incident where three minors including a 9-year-old girl from Mon district were reportedly abused physically and mentally by a woman named Ronika Miachieo in Burma Camp, Dimapur.

“It is very disheartening to learn of such incidences where minors are abused on the pretext of giving them a better life even in today’s society,” a DDCF press release stated.

The forum has also lauded the Dimapur Police for their swift action in arresting the accused in the case. It has appealed to the concerned authorities to thoroughly investigate and book the culprits and award befitting punishment as per the law.

DDCF also requested the colony and village leaders to be vigilant in future to avoid occurrence of such unwanted incidents in their respective jurisdiction. It further conveyed speedy recovery to the victims.

In another statement, the Khiamniungan Union Dimapur (KUD), Khiamniungan Menyiu Hoikam Dimapur (KMHD), Khiamniungan Students’ Union Dimapur (KSUD) have jointly condemned the inhuman act committed by Ronika, a self proclaimed missionary and a resident of Burma Camp, and her co- accused Amos Ezung, wherein three minors were subjugated to harsh treatment by the accused.

“In a just society where unity and peaceful coexistence is what we all strive for, such inhumane act and physical torture must be condemned by all and such persons deserve no rightful place in a civilised society,” the three organisations stated.

The three organisations have urged the law enforcing agencies not to book the culprits and award befitting punishment. The organisations have further empathised with the victims and wished them a speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, the Konyak Union Dimapur (KUD) has appreciated the law enforcing agency of Dimapur for arresting Ronika, the alleged person involved in torturing three minors from Konyak community.

The union has sought befitting punishment to Ronika and Amos Ezung, who have caused physical pain to the three innocent Konyak children from Longwa village. It also demanded that the accused persons be booked under non-bailable section of the law and that they should not be bail out by anyone.
