DIMAPUR — A hitherto unknown social organisation by the name of Nagaland Transparency, Public Rights Advocacy and Direct Action Organisation (NTPRADAO) has urged the deputy commissioner of Kiphire to immediately look into the hike in prices of essential commodities, while it also threatened to stage a sit-in protest as its first phase of democratic stir.
A NTPRADAO press release issued by its president, Ad MT Naga, and the general secretary (enquiry), Zuchamo Patton, has expressed its disappointment at the rampant hike of essential commodities citing ‘artificial shortages.’
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]It wondered how in recent times, the most common essential item (rice) was not supplied to Kiphire for three consecutive days from Dimapur and thereafter hike to record levels.
“The monsoon season has just crept-in 15-20 days ago and there are practically no road blockades by landslides leading upto Kiphire unlike previous years,” it contended. The organisation also claimed that even the price of pork has been hiked.
In light of the above stated circumstances, urged the DC Kiphire to immediately look into the matter with utmost seriousness and rectify the matter to bring normalcy in the prices of essential commodities at the earliest for the benefit of Kiphire district citizens. It added that NTPRADAO would be compelled to stage sit-in protest as its first phase of democratic stir.
