Unidentified female body recovered

DIMAPUR — Dimapur Police recovered one unidentified female body, aged around 18-20 years, from the railway track at KM 260/1 (near over-bridge) on Wednesday. According to a police report issued by the deputy commissioner of police (crime) and PRO, the cause of death was suspected to be due to illness and starvation. It added that the body was shifted to District Hospital Dimapur morgue for post mortem examination/ examination after completion of all legal formalities. The deceased has dark complexion and wearing a pink kurta with silver colour pant, black shawl, gold colour bracelet on left hand and silver colour nose ring on the left side and two tattoos on her left hand marked ‘ELAR.’ Relatives and friends of the deceased are requested to contact the officer-in-charge of GRPS, Dimapur, on phone no. 7085055021 for further information.

Golden Cargo launched in Dimapur

Golden Cargo, located at Purana Bazaar in Dimapur was dedicated by M Yanger Ozukum, pastor of Old Showuba Ao Baptist Fellowship, on June 5. Speaking at the dedication programme, proprietor of Golden Cargo Dimapur, Sashikala, has expressed concern on taxation challenges faced by business owners. Sashikala mentioned that they were approached by different groups demanding for tax even before the commencement of her enterprise.

KMC revises rate of broiler chicken

In a partial modification to its earlier notification, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has revised the rate of broiler chicken and fixed at INR 230 per kg. In an order, the KMC administrator, T Lanusenla Longkumer, informed that the rate of all other chicken would remain the same as before. She further informed that the rate of defeathering of any fowl would be INR 10 per piece. It stated that the order would come into force with immediate effect till further notice.

BSSS felicitates HSLC students

Blue Star School Singrijan (BSSS) felicitated the HSLC pass out students during a programme held on June 5 at its chapel hall, AGBCN Mission Centre Singrijan. An update from the school informed that a total of 23 students, who appeared the exam have qualified. It informed that 21 students secured 1st division and two students in 2nd division, while Vishal Chetri secured 91.6%. The passed students were presented with certificate and cash. The school’s principal has appreciated the hard work of the students and advised them to practice genuine humility despite their successes and stay grounded in all circumstances.

SJU signs MoU with CRIMHSC

St. Joseph University (SJU), Chümoukedima, and Carl Roger’s Institute of Mental Health and School Counseling (CRIMHSC), Kohima, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday. The main objective of the MoU was to collaboratively work in creating a learning platform and environment for learners especially in the field of mental health and counseling and also to jointly organise skill development workshops and programmes for students and teachers on mental health, counseling and other related areas. An update from SJU stated that the MOU would also focus on research and development activities and exchange of both human and non-human resources and enhance entrepreneurial mindsets among students.

NFHRCC urges govt. intervention

The Nagaland Foot Hill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has earnestly appealed to the state government particularly the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, and the deputy chief ministers, Y Patton and TR Zeliang, to put into action the Nagaland assembly resolution dated 22-09-2022 by way of taking up the foothills project under NEC during this financial year 2023-2024 in the interest of the Naga public at large. The NFHRCC has recounted the September 22, 2022, resolution adopted by the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly to take-up the foothills project under NEC. The committee stated that the inaction of the government would amount to betrayal of the Naga people.
