Purana Bazaar Joint Council warns against illegal activities
Dimapur, Sep. 27 (EMN): Following a public rally on September 24 to eradicate sale of abusive substances, alcohol and other illegal prohibited items, the Joint Council of Purana Bazaar, East Dimapur, has served 7 days ultimatum to all shops and house owners dealing in such items to stop with immediate effect. It warned that necessary actions as per its September 3 resolution would be initiated against the defaulter after expiry of the timeframe. It further warned outsiders against dealing with such illegal activities within its jurisdiction. It stated that necessary actions would be initiated against the defaulters.
NSDMA releases SDRF
Dimapur, Sep. 27 (EMN): The deputy commissioner and chairman of Dimapur District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Sachin Jaiswal, informed all the concerned that the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has released the state disaster response fund (SDRF) for the year 2018-21. The approved list of beneficiaries is being displayed in the DDMA cell of the deputy commissioner, Dimapur. The DC informed that the disbursement would commence from September 29 to October 21 on all working days from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Beneficiaries are informed to mandatorily appear in person in the DC’s office along their Aadhar card in original along with one photocopy of the same and two recent passport size photograph. The disbursement of SDRF for Chümoukedima would be held from September 29 to October 30, while for Niuland from October 1 to the 3 and Dimapur from October 6 to the 12.
Treasuries and Accounts informs depts.
Dimapur, Sep. 27 (EMN): Observing that most of the departments are having backlog or missing contribution under NPS inspite of several instructions, the principal director of Treasuries and Accounts, RN Yanthan, has requested all the DDOs/ departments to submit all the pending backlog or missing NPS contribution (challan and annexure) to the directorate of Treasuries and Accounts latest by October 31. He informed that the department would not entertain any request for failing to comply within the stipulated date and added that the department would not be held responsible for any eventuality.
NPF minority conveys festive greetings
Dimapur, Sep. 27 (EMN): Minority wing of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) has conveyed Durga Puja and Navaratri greetings to the people of Nagaland and neighbouring area. The NPF minority president, Bishnu Bhattacharjee, stated that Navaratri, Durga Puja and Dussehra are not only a festival but also a major socio-cultural event celebrated in all corner of the country and abroad with great enthusiasm, solidarity and gaiety. He wished that the celebrations would usher in peace and happiness and also strengthen the prevailing social and cultural harmony in the state and nation as a whole.
Hindi fortnight closing ceremony
Dimapur, Sep. 27 (EMN): Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Kohima, is organising Hindi fortnight closing ceremony on September 29 at 1 pm at the State Academy Hall. Chairman of TOLIC, Kohima, and Pr. Accountant General (Accounts & Audit), Nagaland, A Pitoho Chophy, will inaugurate the ceremony, an update informed. The function will be attended by the HoDs of all central government offices, nationalised banks, para-military forces, PSUs and their family members located in Kohima. The winners of the competitions for Hindi and non-Hindi speaking categories will be announced on the occasion, it stated.
Educational trip to NLA session
Dimapur, Sep. 27 (EMN): Political Science department of Mount Tiyi College, Wokha, organised an educational trip to the 12th session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly on September 20 in Kohima. An update informed that the trip was coordinated by the HoD, Mhalevolie Solo, and assistant professor, Chanchithung Kithan, along with 32 Political Science honours students. “The purpose of the trip was to experience and observe the State Assembly Session that is interconnected to their core-curriculum,” it stated.
LJP to hold national executive meeting
Dimapur, Sep. 27 (EMN): The national executive meeting of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will be held on October 17, at the Constitution Club, Rafi Marg, New Delhi, at 10 am.
