DIMAPUR — Kenei Ritse, the newly crowned Miss Northeast 2023, was warmly received by family, friends and supporters upon her arrival from Sikkim at Dimapur airport on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old beauty queen, who is also Miss Phek 2022 and Miss Nagaland 1st runner-up 2022, is a 5th semester student from Tetso College Chümoukedima, studying Psychology as her major paper.
During the homecoming programme held at the airport, Ritse expressed her gratitude for all the love and support received. She also thanked Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN) for giving her the opportunity.
Sharing about the challenges the contestants faced, she said that it was a battle of champions and there were so many obstacles to overcome; with staying positive and composed as one of the two biggest challenges.
Further, sharing about her future plans, she said that she would like to carry on the legacy of Miss Northeast 2023 with honour and respect and said that she wishes to work for social issues especially on mental health. “I would not be voices for the voices but I would like to amplify the voices of the people”, she said.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Miss Nagaland 2022, Hikali Achumi, who also took part at the pageant came home as the title winner of ‘Miss beautiful smile’ at the Miss Northeast 2023.
She said that staying positive is what one need, and failure is something we should not be discouraged about. “I believe that there is no failure but only learning”, she added.
President of BASN Mele Pucho also appreciated the two beauty queens for bringing laurels to the state.
He expressed that the future is very bright for our beauty pageants industry.
