Dimapur, Sep. 14 (EMN): The chief electoral officer (CEO) of Nagaland, V Shashank Shekhar, along with his team of officers and some BLO from Kohima district attended the launch programme of BLO e-Patrika by the Election Commission of India (ECI) through video conference at his office on Wednesday.
An update from the Election department stated that the BLO e-Patrika was formally launched by the Chief Election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar, along with the Election Commissioner, Anup Chandra Pandey, at the Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
It mentioned that there are more than 10 lakh BLOs (booth level officers) throughout the country.
It stated that the BLO e-Patrika would be a bi-monthly publication prepared by the SVEEP division in digital format. The commission would bring out publication with an aim to ensure direct periodic and timely communication with BLOs who are critical and vital link to provide electoral services to citizens.
“It is a new venture of ECI publication which aims to recognise and appreciate the continued efforts and sacrifice made by the BLOs for voter registration, door-to-door survey for updating and clearing the electoral rolls etc. to conduct elections in a free, fair, inclusive, participative and accessible manner,” the statement read.
It further informed that BLO e-Patrika would be available in CEO Nagaland website ceo.nagaland.gov.in as well as in all CEO Nagaland social media platforms.
