Kohima, Sep. 19 (EMN): Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Kohima, organised its first convocation ceremony on Saturday 18 at ITI Complex.
Principal, ITI and deputy director, H Alongse, in his keynote address informed that Nagaland bagged the top list in the country for trainees passed in National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) Examination with 88.70%.
It is a ‘proud moment' for the whole institute, he said while reminding the students the role they play as ’nation builders.’
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=6]He exhorted the trainees that the key to transitioning from undeveloped into a developed society is in their hands.
He also informed that the Prime Miniter would be addressing the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship's (MSDE) convocation ceremony at the AICTE auditorium.
Director, Employment Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Chiden Yaden, speaking as the special invitee, urged the graduates to work hard and to focus on their vision and accept the challenges ahead and not wait for ‘white collar jobs.’
Though outsiders tend to consider Nagaland as a state with employment opportunities, but this is not the same among the Nagas, Yaden said.
He called upon the graduates to be more attentive and not to misuse the mobile technology but take it as a plus point to help them achieve success with a sense of responsibility. He also reminded them to be humble, to believe in God and work hard which, he said, are the keys to success.
Further, Yaden lauded the faculty and the staff of ITI for their progress and dedication.
The dedication was pronounced by pastor, SBLK, Thsadongse Sangtam, Molumenla Esther chaired the ceremony and a speech from the faculty was delivered by Konyi Seb.
On the occasion, the institution also presented awards to the toppers.
In the result category under NCVT, 82 appeared and 80 passed, while under SCVT, 114 appeared and 108 passed.
The ITI has 33 faculty members and offers training in trades including carpenter mechanic diesel, welder, draughtsman civil, electrician, fitter, machinist, mechanic motor vehicle, surveyor, cutting & sewing, knitting, hair & skin care, COPA, I&CTSM, carpentry, masonry and plumbing.
