DIMAPUR — Indian National Congress (INC) candidate of Nagaland parliamentary constituency, S Supongmeren Jamir, has thanked the electorates of Nagaland for their enthusiastic participation in the electoral process. He also lauded the tireless efforts of the numerous poll related government officials for their help in the festival of democracy.
To his supporters and well wishers, Jamir stated that he was humbled by their acts of kindness and unwavering support in the face of very formidable odds. He added that their contributions, in cash and in kind and constant prayers, had been the bulwark of his campaign.
Jamir has also expressed gratitude to the entire rank and file of the Congress family in Nagaland and beyond, including the campaign committees and star campaigners, for steadfastly defending the progressive and secular ideals of the Indian National Congress and for their untold sacrifices in support of his candidature.
Besides, he also expressed gratitude to all the like-minded political parties that stood by him throughout the electoral journey and enriched his campaign effort with their generous partnerships.
“It is undeniable that the people of Nagaland have, in an unprecedented show of purpose and unanimity, voiced a strong message in favour of change this time, and I give assurance that my future political course will be shaped in complete alignment with this sentiment, regardless of the verdict on 4th of June,” Jamir said.
In another statement, the president of National People Party (NPP), Nagaland state, A Nyamnyei Konyak, has appreciated the electorates of Nagaland for exercising their voting rights in the recently concluded Lok Sabha election and expressed hope that the voters have chosen a rightful candidate, who will work for the welfare of Naga people irrespective of their political allegiance.
Konyak also congratulated Dr. Chumben Murry, PDA candidate, for maintaining the decorum and dignity during his public discourse and wished him the best for a favorable people’s verdict.
He further thanked the rank and file of the state NPP party workers, who have worked tirelessly for the consensus PDA candidature, Dr. Chumben Murry.
