Dimapur, July 29 (EMN): A consultative meeting to discuss on intensive revision of electoral rolls for Wokha Town Council (WTC) was held on July 29 in the conference hall of the DC’s office in Wokha under the chairmanship of K Furhesie Nyuwi, additional deputy commissioner of Wokha.
It was decided that intensive revision of electoral rolls would be prepared for all the wards under Wokha Town Council and be taken up with reference to January 1, 2022, as the qualifying date. The members also deliberated on demarcation of polling station areas under various wards.
Leaders and representatives from political parties, chairmen, GBs and representatives from wards and colonies, and stakeholders under Wokha town council attended the meeting.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=6]In a similar programme, a consultative meeting with all GBs, ward functionaries, political parties and elders of Satakha town in regard to the preparation of e-roll for election to town council was held in the office chamber of additional deputy commissioner in Satakha town under Zunheboto district on July 29 under the chairmanship of SDO (C), Kupeising Meru.
In another programme, the additional deputy commissioner (ADC) and ERO of Chozuba Town Council, Imokokla, organised a training for supervisors and enumerators on intensive revision of electoral roll on July 29.
Imokokla has appealed to the public to cooperate with electoral officials and also instructed supervisors and enumerators to follow the demarcation map and enroll the electors fairly.
Obangnener Jamir, extra assistant commissioner (EAC), highlighted the rules and guidelines of the State Election Commission. Jamir urged the supervisors and enumerators to be diligent for the smooth exercise of electoral revision. He warned that the enrollment should not be above 75% population of the 2011 census.
In view of the notification issued by the State Election Commission, ADC and ERO of Chozuba has appointed two supervisors and eight enumerators for nine wards namely Zasemuru-Khutsazho, Nyohokharu, Phakuzho, Chozu, Muzaboka-Thozhe, Rikhu-Dzuluba, Rikhuba-Vethozho and Thujiba- Timeba.
Meanwhile, in view of the intensive revision of electoral rolls for municipal/ town councils scheduled from August 3, the ADC and ERO of Tseminyu has requested all GBs under Tseminyu Town Council and recognised political parties are to attend a meeting for briefing in his office chamber August 1. All concerned are requested to attend the meeting.
