Nagaland declares June 22 working day, paid holiday on polling day
DIMAPUR — The Governor of Nagaland has declared June 22 (4th Saturday) a working day for all offices and departments involved in the upcoming municipal and town council elections.
However, June 26 (Wednesday), the polling day, has been declared a paid holiday for all state government employees in the municipal and town council areas, to enable them to participate and exercise their franchise.
This also applies to all categories of employees ordinarily residing in one area but having the place of work in another area, stated an update.
The day of polling is also declared paid holiday to all the employees of banks and financial institutions in the municipal and town council areas under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (Act, XXVI) to enable them to exercise their franchise, it added.
