DIMAPUR — The Department of Food and Civil Supplies has informed that the department, in collaboration with PATH, technical partner, is organising a series of programmes across the state to raise general awareness and dispel misinformation about plastic rice that is being circulated on social media. The awareness programme will be held at IMC Hall, Fellowship Colony, Dimapur, on August 29 at 11 am for the districts of Dimapur, Chumüokedima, and Niuland. Therefore, the department has invited all concerned FPS under the three districts, village councils, colony chairmen, and urban GBs to attend the awareness programme, spread the message, and educate on the benefits of consuming fortified rice.

DIMAPUR — DC Peren Vineet Kumar has announced that the district administration, in collaboration with GHE Impact Ventures and the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), will be conducting a three-day training programme on ‘hospitality/home stay’ from October 16 to 18 at the Rural Self Employment Training Institution (RSETI) in Peren headquarters. DIMAPUR — Wild elephants numbering 15 are reported to have been stationed at Yanmhon Old village under Wokha district since August 19. The herd is said to have extensively destroyed fields of paddy and other agriculture and horticulture crops on August 19. According to the villagers, the herd is still around Yanmhon Old village, destroying not only agricultural fields and plantations but also disrupting normal life.
DIMAPUR — The Naga National Council (NNC), Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN), and Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) will observe the 60th Indo-Naga Ceasefire Day on September 6 at 10 am at Chedema Peace Camp, Angami Region. DIMAPUR — The STF duty party of the Excise department of Nagaland seized 340 gm of heroin (sunflower) on August 27 from a house located at the DC court area, Dimapur, and arrested a 27-year-old Izaki Kiho. According to a press release from the Excise department, a case has been registered under the NDPS Act 1985, the accused has been forwarded to the court, and further investigation is on.
