Nagaland Cricket Association Women’s Champion’s Trophy: Milak XI, Chathe XI register wins

Dimapur, July 3 (EMN): On the third day of the league matches during the ongoing Nagaland Cricket Association Women’s Champion’s Trophy at Sovima Cricket Ground, Milak XI defeated Dikhu XI by 10 wickets in 12 limited overs, while Chathe XI defeated Dhansiri XI by 57 runs.

Milak XI won the toss and decided to field first. Dikhu IX managed to score 50 runs with a loss of four wickets in 12 over, while Milak XI chased down the target in 8.2 over with no loss of wickets.

Priyanka Karmakar of Milak XI was declared the MVP of the match for scoring 18 runs and securing one wicket.

In the third match, Chathe XI defeated Dhansiri XI by 57 runs. Dhansiri XI won the toss and opted to field first allowing Chathe XI to score a total of 108 runs with a loss of five wickets in 20 overs, while Dhansiri XI managed to score only 51 runs with a loss of 10 wickets in 15.2 overs.

Alamlie of Chathe XI was declared the woman of the match for securing three wickets in two overs.

Meanwhile, the first match between Doyang XI and Dzuza XI on July 3 was abandoned due to a wet outfield.

It may be mentioned that the NCA Women’s Champion’s Trophy commenced on July 1 at Sovima Cricket Ground, Dimapur will conclude on July 5. The trophy consists of eight teams. Pool – A consists of Dhansiri XI, Tizu XI, Zungki XI and Chathe XI, while Pool-B includes Doyang XI, Dikhu XI, Dzuza XI and Milak XI.

Chathe XI leads Pool-A (six points in three matches with three wins) followed by  Tizu XI (two points with one win and one loss), Dhansiri XI (two points) and Zungki XI with zero points at the last.

In Pool–B, Milak XI tops the table points with four points in two wins, followed by Doyang XI with three points, Dzuza XI with one point and Dikhu XI standing last with two losses.
