Nagaland begins e-office system trial for five departments
KOHIMA— In what will enhance efficiency and transparency in the functioning of various departments, the government of Nagaland is in the process of implementing e-office.
Senior Programme Officer of Information Technology and Communication Department, Samuel Terieng informed that a trial for e-office is being initiated in the Civil Secretariat for five departments, including Planning, Tribal Affairs, Industries and Commerce, P&AR, and Chief Secretary Office.
While giving an overview of the activities implemented by the department during the one-day media workshop ‘Vartalap’ in Kohima, he said that the project is in the pilot phase and National Informatics Centre (NIC), New Delhi, is the implementing agency.
He also informed that a total of 37 e-services have been developed, including 21 e-services (none live) and 16 e-services (live) under the e-district. Meanwhile, 16 (live), 17 (not live) and four are on hold.
Further, a total of 65 departments have been registered for an Aadhaar-based biometric attendance system and a total of 2047 employees registered in Secretariat.
The officer further updated that 3.89 lakh beneficiaries have been covered under the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme since its launching in October 2022.
On the scholarship portal, he said 2.7 lakh scholarship applications have been processed and 24,427 inner line permits (ILP) issued. He further informed that 328 common service centres are currently operational in Nagaland.
