Dimapur, Dec. 19 (EMN): The district administration of Mon has been conferred a national award for e-governance 2020- 21 instituted by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India.
Mon won silver under “Category 6 – use of ICT in the management of Covid- 19″ scheme of the national award, which will be presented during the 24th National Conference on e- Governance scheduled on January 7 and 8, 2022 at Hyderabad, Telangana, a press statement informed on Sunday.
The award was given for the project titled “Technology in Aid to Administration”, initiated to reduce the hardship and inconvenience caused to the public while enforcing Covid -19 appropriate measures to minimise exposure to coronavirus, it read.
The objectives of the project were to reduce hardship of people, increase effectiveness of administration and to keep people safe from Covid, it stated.
Some of the technologies used for the objectives were use of online e- pass portal for movement of people, geo fencing to monitor the movement of those under quarantine, contact tracing using deep machine learning and predictive analytics, Clappia app/ web portal for management of quarantine centres and tracking of quarantined people, use of online web platform to address the grievances of people and connect the people requiring assistance with people who are willing to help.
The award is presented every year for exemplary implementation of e-Governance initiatives to recognise and promote excellence in implementation of e-Governance initiatives, it added.
