Mokokchung DPDB to initiate developmental facilities
DIMAPUR — Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker and chairman of Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Sharingain Longkumer, informed that the board would initiate infrastructure developmental facilities in three sectors of Mokokchung town.
Addressing the monthly DPDB meeting held at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office in Mokokchung town on September 4, Longkumer informed that besides the coaching centre ‘Shisalen Riju,’ which was initiated by DPDB Mokokchung, the board would procure an ambulance with life support system and also install a 5 metric ton cold storage at MMC complex as well as banana stem fibre bag producing machine.
The house deliberated on the delay of a new project at IMDH and decided that an urgent meeting would be held with the department concern and the contractor to complete the project, stated a DIPR report.
The DEO of Mokokchung, while presenting the departmental activities, informed that construction of auditorium, library and laboratory at MGHSS, which was started in 2014, have not been completed till date.
In responds, the chairman has asked the DEO of Mokokchung to give a detail report within two weeks’ time for further action.
A total of 10 departments presented their activities in the meeting and the remaining departments were asked to present their activities in the next meeting.
On registration of societies, Shalom Education and Charitable Trust in Tuli, Melongtet Initiative in Kobulong and Naga Hills Farmers Federation Society were approved and recommended to the government.
Report further stated that the agenda put forward by the principal of ICIT, Mokokchung, for change of nomenclature to Government Polytechnic, Mokokchung, was also forwarded for approval.
