MCTE organises send-off programme for outgoing batch
MOKOKCHUNG — The Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE) organised a send-off programme for the outgoing student-teachers (Batch 2022-2024) on June 5 with Dr. Imnatoshi, president of MCTE Society of Alumni, as the special invitee.
While sharing his personal experiences as a teacher, Dr. Imnatoshi emphasised the importance of knowing and caring for the students and bringing out the best in them by focusing more on learning by the students rather than the teaching process saying, ‘teaching is not useful unless there is learning.’
He advised the student-teachers to not get morphed into a system that is unproductive but to find ways to bring change in the society, however small it might be. He further encouraged them to be creative and to harness the transformative power of education and not to be complacent.
Dr. Temsurenla, MCTE vice principal, in her short speech, appreciated the outgoing student-teachers for their creativity and perseverance. She encouraged them to be humane educational practitioners and to make the right decision in life.
Imtimenla, assistant professor at MCTE, appreciated the outgoing student-teachers for their remarkable journey. She reminded them to carry forward the good qualities that are within them.
Pomei Jorlim, assistant professor at MCTE and faculty-in-charge of the magazine committee, initiated the digital launch of the 12th edition of the annual college magazine ‘Kaleidoscope,’ which was launched by Dr. Imnatoshi.
Noyingbemo and P Tiasola spoke on behalf of the outgoing student-teachers and the juniors respectively.
