DIMAPUR — Margaret Shishak School of Music (MSSM), Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), held its annual spring concert and MSSM 10th anniversary concert on Sunday at Bundrock Auditorium in Chümoukedima.

According to an update, speaking on the occasion, Kaisa Rio, wife of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, said that 50 years ago, Patkai Christian College was established with a vision to provide quality education rooted in Christian values and over the years, it has grown to become a beacon of knowledge, nurturing young minds and shaping future leaders.

Similarly, she said, the Margaret Shishak School of Music has made a significant impact in just a decade on the musical landscape of the community.

Stating that Nagas are naturally gifted in music and that the influence of church music in their lives from an early age helps in refining this gift, she said that the Margaret Shishak School of Music has understood this inherent gift and has nurtured a rich array of musical expression, inspiring many lives.

“It is a matter of joy and pride that many students who have graduated from this school are excelling in society and have become positive contributors by serving in churches, working as music teachers and as professional artists,” she said.

Further, she hoped that the school would continue to serve as a bastion of creativity, a catalyst for artistic manifestation, and a witness to the enduring legacy of the late Margarette Shishak.

The event featured guitar ensemble, recorder ensemble, string ensemble, MSSM alumni, MSSM singers, and MSSM chorus.
