Imphal, June 6 (EMN): The 3rd state-level Shirui Lily festival which was postponed due to the enforcement of Model Code of Conduct of the 17th Lok Sabha Election 2019 is likely to be held in October this year.
According to DIPR, the first meeting of the festival organising committee was held at Chief Minister's Office on Thursday, under the chairmanship of the state Chief Minister Biren Singh.
The committee members discussed the tentative dates, identification of venues and formation of district-level Shirui Lily festival co-ordination committee.
Three MLAs representing Ukhrul and Kamjong districts namely Khashim Vashum(Chingai),K Leishiyo(Phungyar), Alfred Kanngam S Arthur(Ukhrul), Chairman Dr Yaronsho Ngalung of Autonomous District Council Ukhrul district, Principal Secretary (General Administrative Department) V Vumlunmang, Commissioner (Tourism) Nidhi Kesarwani, Director (Tourism) W Ibohal, members of various Civil Society Organisations of Ukhrul, Headman of various villages of Ukhrul district attended the meeting.
