DIMAPUR — The Longleng District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held its monthly meeting at the DPDB hall, Longleng on Monday.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman of DPDB Longleng, Dharam Raj, witnessed significant discussions and decisions, a DIPR report stated.
During the session, the DC welcomed the newly appointed president of the Phom People’s Council (PPC), YB Angam. The PPC president, in his speech, underscored the importance of sincere dedication to serving the people of Longleng, urging officers to work diligently towards this end.
The meeting agenda included crucial discussions and approvals.
The committee for the verification of LAPD 2023–2024 for the 49 A/C Tamlu and 50 A/C Longleng constituencies received approval from the attendees.
It was decided that the next DPDB meeting will be held on the outskirts of the district for wider accessibility and participation.
Additionally, the department of Forest presented its activities during the meeting, while the department of Sericulture was tasked with presenting its activities in the forthcoming session.
Kiphire: The monthly Kiphire DPDB meeting was also held on Monday at the DC’s conference hall, which was chaired by the chairman of DPDB Kiphire and MLA C Kipili Sangtam.
Key deliberations and decisions during the meeting included the proposal for introducing a B.Sc. (Science) stream at Zisaji Presidency College, approval for the recognition of Tsungmulung village, upgrade of Yangphi Government High School and the registration of the Alongti Welfare Society.
During discussions, attention was drawn to the poor road conditions within Kiphire town and members also shared insights on the upgrade of sports infrastructure.
A presentation was delivered by the Fishery department and the Land Resources department and District Soil and Water Conservation department have been requested to present their PowerPoint presentations in the upcoming DPDB meeting.
