DIMAPUR — The Longleng District Task Force on Immunisation (DTFI) held a meeting on Wednesday at the DC’s conference hall in Longleng town under the chairmanship of the deputy commissioner of Longleng, W Manpai Phom.
Speaking at the meeting, the DC emphasised that all line departments and NGOs should take up the task and coordinate as a team to disseminate information on the importance of village health and nutrition day (VHND), ante-natal care (ANC) and immunisation to the mothers and the public in general.
An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Longleng, stated that the members reviewed the last meeting minutes held on September 30.
Dr. Imtijungshi Aier, DPO (RCH/UIP), briefed the members on the completion of routine immunisation (RI) micro plan and household survey. He also informed the members that the VHND action plan has been completed and streamlining of the same is being shared to all the health units and the line departments.
He expressed gratitude to the administration, various line departments and all stakeholders for their continuous support in ensuring success of all the initiatives.
The members discussed about the shortage of human resources and its challenges at Bura Namsang Primary Health Centre (PHC), which caters to 8 villages.
It was informed that at present only 1 ANM is posted at the health centre. In this regard, the members decided to take up the matter to the higher authority.
It mentioned that the meeting brought together representatives from the district administration, IPR, CSOs and Medical department.
