Kohima, July 19 (EMN): With the objective to promote reading culture among the students, the deputy commissioner of Kiphire, T Wati Aier, inaugurated a library at Good Shepherd High School in Kiphire town on July 19.
Speaking at the inauguration programme, Wati Aier has appreciated the Akehda_Amulung, a, NGO, for successfully setting up the library at the school. He encouraged the students to keep God first in every walk of their life, while he urged upon other NGO like the Akehda_Amulung to be facilitators and work ceaselessly for the uplift of the people and society.
Also speaking on the occasion, the chairman and founder of Akehda_Amulung, Longtili C Sangtam, emphasised on the importance of reading and encouraged the students to inculcate the habit of reading books. He advised the students and public to wisely utilise the resources.
The welcome address was delivered by TV Thomas, principal of Good Shepherd High School, wherein he expressed gratitude to Akehda_Amulung for sponsoring the library.
The programme was chaired by Irothe T Sangtam, secretary of Akehda_Amulung, while a song was presented by the students of Good Shepherd High School and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ariba T Sangtam, advisor of Akehda_Amulung.
