Landowners seek CM’s intervention on land dispute with Indian army in Nagaland
Dimapur, Sep. 9 (EMN): A forum comprising landowners has expressed dismay over the delay in resolving the land issue with the Indian army in Dimapur town and requested the chief minister of the state to personally intervene and serve justice at the earliest.
In a representation to the CM, the “Landowners Pattadars” forum alleged that it had written to DC Dimapur for several years to take action and a list of pattadars was also submitted as directed but matter remains unsolved.
“To our utter dismay, the joint survey conducted by the army, defense estate and district administration in 2019 has not been approved till date. The landowners /pattadars have been peacefully and hopefully waiting for disposal of justice and handing over their lands to them. The forum has been cooperating with the government, however, it has been unfortunate to see the prolong delay in this way by elongating the matter,” read the representation.
It went on to say that it is high time to complete all the necessary procedures and formalities on the matter and handed over the land to the pattadars.
