DIMAPUR — The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Longleng, aiming to boost local agricultural productivity and support farmers, conducted a series of events and distributed essential agricultural tools to them at its premises.

According to a press release, Dr. Hari Charan Kalita, Head and Senior Scientist of KVK Longleng, provided 129 farmers with nail weeders.

This initiative, part of the North Eastern Region (NER) programme, was carried out in collaboration with the ICAR-Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres (CRIJAF), Kolkata.

Further, a certificate distribution programme was held under the initiative of doubling farmers’ income to recognise and reward farmers who have shown significant improvements in their agricultural practices and productivity.

Also, under the 100-Day Action Plan by KVK Longleng, an intensive training programme was conducted to equip farmers with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively utilise the distributed inputs and implement improved agricultural practices.

The programme covered various aspects of crop management, with a focus on sustainable and innovative farming techniques.
