Kohima Press Club mourns demise of Keku Zeliang
DIMAPUR — The Kohima Press Club (KPC) condoled the demise of Keku Zeliang, father of its member, Esuihangle N Liegise, who passed away on Wednesday.
In a condolence note, the club mentioned that Zeliang was the first matriculate and first graduate from the Nsarangbe clan of Benreu village and, during his lifetime, served the Naga society in various capacities.
He was a founding member of the Nagaland Olympic Association in 1984 and also served as the president of the Nagaland Wrestling Association and Tenyimi People’s Organisation, among others, according to the note.
It mentioned that he retired as registrar from the commissioner’s office on February 26, 2001, and conveyed heartfelt sympathy to Esuihangle. The club prayed that God would bring the family much-needed comfort and peace during this sad time.
