Kohima College, Zisaji Presidency College celebrate freshers’ day
DIMAPUR — Kohima College, Kohima, celebrated its 55th freshers’ social at the college premises on August 2, with Visielie Kezo, Commissioner and Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, as the guest speaker.
In his address, Kezo recounted his educational journey and the challenges he encountered, with the aim of inspiring the students. He emphasised the significance of studying while also addressing the critical issue of unemployment in Naga society, according to a press release.
He advised students to be wise in their educational pursuits, emphasising that obtaining a degree should align with future career prospects.
Kezo said that students should develop a love for learning and not deceive themselves with a degree that holds no promise for the future. He advised them to be wise and to know the direction they want to take, as life is the sum total of the choices and decisions they make every day.
Earlier, delivering the welcome address, Dr. Vitsosie Vüprü, principal of the college, emphasised the importance of hard work and urged students to learn good traits from their seniors.
At the event, Kezhasede Lhousa from the department of English was crowned Mr. Freshers, and Merubeinuo Zumu from the department of Political Science was crowned Miss Freshers.
Zisaji Presidency College celebrates 27th freshers’ day
Zisaji Presidency College, Kiphire, celebrated its 27th freshers’ day at the college auditorium on August 3, with Colonel Vikee Lamoria, Commanding Officer of the 41 Assam Rifles Battalion, Kiphire, as the special guest.
Dr. Purna Chandra Mishra, vice-principal of the college, in his speech, encouraged the students to set a good example for one another in all aspects of life, to be good friends, and most importantly, to be good human beings.
During the event, a speech on behalf of the freshers was delivered by Munguli. Meanwhile, Robert was declared Mr. Freshers, and Danglila Thonger was crowned Miss Freshers.
