DIMAPUR — The Kiphire District GBs’ Association (KDGBA) organised a tour to Pungro and held a meeting at GBs’ Union hall in Pungro town on June 27.
Speaking at the meeting, KDGBA president, K Tsilise, emphasised the importance of unity in society and called upon the GB members to work for the welfare of the people and asked them to perform their duties sincerely.
He highlighted the pivotal role of GBs in bringing peace and progress in their respective villages. By virtue of their position as guardian of the people, he further urged them to guide the villagers in the right direction, stated a DIPR report.
Short speeches were delivered by the presidents of the GBs union of Seyochung, Sitimi, Longmatra, Amahotor, Kiusam, Khongsa area and Yangsomong, head GB of Pungro town.
A folk song was performed by the Pungro Sub-Division GBs’ Union, while the welcome address was delivered by Shahoto, president of PSGPU and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Kongkhiu, former GB chairman.
