Karbi Anglong observes National Press Day

Diphu, Nov. 16 (EMN): Along with the rest of the country, the District Press Club of Karbi Anglong (DPCKA) in collaboration with the District Information and Public Relations officer (DIPRO) observed National Press Day at Taralangso in Diphu on Wednesday.

The programme began with the unfurling of the organisational flag by the President of DPCKA, Diganta Teron.

A meeting was held on the occasion where the DPCKA awarded Tipong Hanse, Editor of The Arleng Daily, a vernacular Karbi Daily for Lifetime Achievement Award for his selfless dedication and commitment to the promotion of Journalism in Karbi Language. The occasion was attended by the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang; MP, Horen Sing Bey; Member of Autonomous Council, Prabhat Taro; Executive Members of KAAC, D Uphing Maslai, Surya Rongphar and Lunsing Teron among other DC, Madhumita Bhagwati, SP Sanjib Kumar Saikia, APS  and journalists fraternity from various press clubs of Karbi Anglong, senior Journalists, officials from DIPRO.

Likewise, Diphu Press Club (DPC) also observe National Press day at Joysing Doloi Auditorium where journalist working for various media houses were awarded including TP Hanse, Editor of Arleng Daily for bringing out the first Karbi daily in Karbi Anglong; Mukesh Chauhan of Diphu Voice, Humson Hanse of Diphu Voice, Loveson Terang of Karbi Anglong Today, Longsodar Ingti Kathar of Karbi Anglong Live, Ganeshwar Timung of Kido Live, Surajit Shetty of Kido Live, Babusing Kramsa of Newsfast, etc.
