DIMAPUR — Japan Embassy in New Delhi has decided to organise a job fair in Dimapur sometime in October this year.
This was announced by Oota Masami, first secretary (Food and Agriculture), Embassy of Japan, New Delhi, during her maiden visit to the School of Agricultural Sciences, Nagaland University, Medziphema campus on April 16.
During an informal meeting with the faculty along with undergraduates (UG) and postgraduates (PG) students, she stated that her visit was the first phase for promotion of the plan to hold a job fair in Dimapur that the Japan Embassy will conduct sometime in October this year, stated an update from SAS:NU.
The first secretary told the gathering that her embassy was specifically targeting Nagaland for the job fair and expressed hope that the students of SAS:NU would participate in the job fair as there are many openings in the agricultural sector, especially in horticulture and livestock in Japan.
Also speaking in the meeting, Nagatoshi Shibata, vice president/ director of Human and Arms (H&A), Arms Incorporation, India, said that he was optimistic about fostering cooperation and promoting exchanges between Japan and Nagaland.
Prof. Akali Sema, Pro Vice Chancellor of SAS:NU, welcomed the team and expressed hope that students of SAS:NU, Medziphema campus, would have the chance to avail job opportunities and get firsthand experience of the Japanese culture and professionalism.
The visit was coordinated by Human and Arms (H&A), Arms Incorporation, India, a Japanese company that offers technical intern training programme (TITP) whose aim is to enhance employability and sustainability in development, along with the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) officials, Government of Nagaland.
The first secretary was accompanied by Temjen Bursanen Jamir, H&A, Arms Incorporation HR head/ education leader, Nagaland; Dr. Limanungla Longkumer, investment officer at IDAN; and Dr. Arenla, HR officer at IDAN.
