IOC holds meeting with LPG distributors in Kohima

KOHIMA — Indian Oil Company (IOC) held a structured meeting of LPG distributors of Nagaland and training with delivery boys at Hotel Vivor in Kohima on July 12.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief general manager of IOC (LPG), Assam Oil Division, Dinesh Prasad Vidyarthi, informed that the programme was conducted to follow the basic safety measures in LPG distribution and to create better awareness on digital initiative so that the cylinders go to the right customer without being diverted. He stated that through the digital initiative, customers have to book cylinders by giving a missed call from their registered mobile number to the service provider or through SMS, IVRS, WhatsApp etc.

He also informed that in order to ease the problems of those not using mobile phones, the company has opened Common Service Centre (CSC) and Village Level Enterprises (VLE), an update from the company stated.

It mentioned that there are 79 Indane distributors in Nagaland and two field officers are conducting the training to ensure that digital initiative penetrate more into the interior areas.

LPG distributors from different parts of the state attended the day-long programme.

Meanwhile, it was informed that the Nagaland government through a circular on July 2 has notified that IOC has initiated digital booking and delivery authentication code (DAC) based confirmation of domestic LPG refill to expand the digital movement initiated by the Government of India and to ensure that gas cylinder are delivered to the genuine customers.
