Inter-school sepaktakraw tournament kicks off in Wokha
WOKHA — The second Wokha district inter-school tournament, organised by the Wokha District Sepaktakraw Association (WDSA), kick started at local ground, Wokha on Friday.
Habenthung Ezung, secretary and convener of trade permit and license, Wokha Town Council, was the special guest for the opening ceremony.
Libemo Jami, Youth Resources and Sports Officer, Wokha informed that the department is giving due importance to every sports discipline and extending assisting for overall progress of youths in the field of sports.
He also informed that the department will soon be conducting a sepaktakraw coaching camp in Wokha.
WSDA president T Thungchibemo Lotha highlighted the history of the association formed in the year 2021.He said that since its inception, Wokha district has been actively participating in state and northeast level tournaments, and winning various titles.
Four schools are taking part in the tournament divided into three categories – senior boys, senior girls and junior boys.
