Inter-club Cricket Tournament begins in Chümoukedima

DIMAPUR — The second Inter-club Cricket Tournament kicked off on Tuesday at Sovima Cricket Ground, Chümoukedima.

On Day 1, the opening match featured Missionshaire Cricket Club (MCC) against Dapfhütsümia Cricket Club (DCC). Missionshaire won the toss and chose to bat, according to an update.

Missionshaire scored 157/7 in 20 overs. Visanyu Yhome of MCC made 59 runs off 49 balls. Lhousakholie Pienyu of DCC took 3 wickets for 15 runs in 4 overs, while Zhabu Kire claimed 2 wickets for 14 runs in 2 overs.

In reply, DCC was all out for 97 runs in 16.4 overs. Ababa of DCC scored 31 runs off 31 balls, while Mughatovi of MCC took 5 wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs.

Mughatovi of MCC was named man of the match.

In the second match, Elite Cricket Club (ECC) won the toss and elected to bat first. ECC set a target for Kohima Hornbills, scoring 135 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Imomneba of ECC scored 35 runs off 41 balls, Viketho Kechü made 25 runs off 19 balls, and Kelhousielie scored 26 runs off 15 balls.

Kohima Hornbills, chasing the target, were all out for 92 runs in 17 overs. Sunep of the Kohima Hornbills scored 18 runs off 11 balls. Ruduovotso of ECC took 2 wickets for 3 runs in 3 overs, while Kelhousielie claimed 1 wicket for 5 runs in 2 overs.

Kelhousielie of ECC was declared the man of the match.
