DIMAPUR — A capacity building workshop on Gatishakti portal of MDoNER and Nagaland was held at the conference hall of the Department of Industries and Commerce in Kohima on Friday.

Delivering the keynote address, the senior director of DoNER ministry, Vivek Gupta, informed that Gatishakti portal was an initiative of the prime minister of India to monitor large scale project which was launched on October 13, 2021. The purpose of the portal launch was to improve coordination between various ministries and departments, a DIPR report stated.

Gupta emphasised on various challenges faced between the state and the ministry in the past years such as delay in submitting of documents, lack of proper documents, loss of physical copy of the proposal etc. He added that the concept of Vikas Setu portal came into picture to breach the gap between the state and the centre and to ensure that all the departments have visibility of the activities providing critical data while planning and execution of projects.

He also stated that the PM Gatishakti portal has various tools available through which planning could be done as well as to check if there is any duplicity of the proposed project. He added that ones the project is submitted on to the portal, the proposers could track their status online.

He further mentioned that the portal has no dependency on any person adding that all the project related information would be available in the portal and accessible by any officer from anywhere at any time. He stated that the portal would serve as a transparent system and increase efficiency between the state and ministry.

During the workshop, the secretary of Industries and Commerce, Shanavas C, thanked all the representatives from different departments for their presences in the capacity building workshop on Gatishakti portal.
