DIMAPUR — Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI)-empanelled hygiene rating audit agency M/S Certification Services Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata, conducted a hygiene rating of eateries based on the hygiene and sanitation of the facilities on Tuesday in Zunheboto town.

According to a press release, the assessment was conducted in collaboration with Designated Officer (Food Safety) C Merenlemba Ao, Food Safety Officer of Mokokchung Zone, Sukumlo Yanthan, and Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Zunheboto, Dr. K. Akaho Sema.

The hygiene rating of eateries based on the hygiene and sanitation of the food preparation area is an initiative of the FSSAI that allows consumers to make informed choices about the outlets they choose to eat at while also encouraging food businesses to showcase and improve their food hygiene standards.

In addition, this also helps the food business operators to distinguish themselves from others and create their unique identity as responsible food business establishments.

Altogether, 13 eateries, cafés, and restaurants were inspected and audited.
