Humble Tribute to Mr. President, Late Isak Chishi Swu
Had you choose a different calling
You would have been lesser known
Had you choose a different career
You might have become a great officer
Accumulate wealth and properties
Had you choose to build your company
You might succeed well and earn profit
Had you choose to be in another path
You would have lived a comfortable life
Had you choose to remain untouched
By the thirst for freedom and liberty
You would not have choose this path
You had taken the road that’s crystal clear
You had taken the road that’s tough
You had taken the road that seemed impossible
You had taken the road that appeared foolish
To the minds of hundreds who failed to see beyond
You had taken the road not for self
You had taken the road not for your tribe alone
You had taken the road not for fame and pride
You had not taken that road because you were unemployed
You held Degree in Political Science
Your vision went beyond mere Job Security and Comfort
You chose the narrow and toughest road
For supreme sacrifice to the true spirit of Freedom and Liberty
Trod thousand days in thick forests in rain and Sun
Everyday walking and hiding in the rains of bullets
Bombings to take your life and comrades
Starving in the insects infested forests
Millions miles away from homeland
Yet in your heart your beloved homeland was so dear and near
In foreign soil you fought for free homeland
You fought with not only gun but prayer,
Preaching the great good news of Kingdom of God
Advocating for truth, justice, peace, freedom and liberty
Not only for the Nagas as its President
But for the human race for their safety and security
Your long walk in pursuit of freedom and liberty
Had ignited thousands of minds to emulate
Had enlightened the human race that military might is not a solution at all
Only respect and honouring the liberty and freedom given by God
Is the way forward to solve the problem
You won the hearts of the opponents
That’s truly was greatest achievement
Salute You! Mr. President
Adieu to your mortal remains
Well done ; Leader
In your death! May thousands like you
Surrender their lives for freedom and liberty
Until the mission started and sacrificed by you and your comrades
Come to be fulfilled One day
When a tiny Nation; the Naga Nation
Raise its flag high to sing the Freedom Song
Kuknalim
