Handloom exhibition underway in Kohima
DIMAPUR — A two-week handloom exhibition, organised by the Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation (NHHDC), was inaugurated by the commissioner and secretary of Industries and Commerce, Kekhrievor Kevichusa, in Kohima on Tuesday.
The exhibition is being sponsored by the office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, New Delhi. The exhibition will culminate on March 18.
An update from NHHDC informed that a total of 60 artisans from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and various districts of Nagaland are exhibiting varieties of handloom, Khadi and handicraft products.
The main objective of the exhibition was to develop and promote domestic products and bring about linkage in a holistic and integrated manner. It is also aimed at providing marketing opportunities to handicraft artisans.
