DIMAPUR — The Korean Cultural Centre India on April announced that the upcoming K-Pop India Contest 2023 is being held in celebration of 50 years of diplomatic ties between Korea and India.
The contest will be held with three rounds of competition in India, an update stated. The first round is the online audition round and the second round is the regional round. This year, the regional rounds will be held in 11 cities across India, namely, Kolkata, Guwahati, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Itanagar, Kohima, Lucknow and Mumbai.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]The winners from the regional rounds will later move on to compete at the National round, which is The K-Pop India Contest 2023 grand finale, and the winners of the national round will get a chance to participate and compete at the KPOP World Festival in South Korea.
HallyuWave Nagaland has been selected as the regional host for organising K-Pop India Contest 2023 Kohima regional round.
Registration for the online round will begin from April 24 to May 7 and results for the online round will be announced on May 15.
To apply for the K-Pop contest contestants need to:
1. Record a vocal/ dance cover of their favourite K-Pop song (participants must note that only K-Pop songs will be allowed; any entries of non-K-Pop songs or songs by a K-Pop artist in a different language will lead to disqualification.)
2. The total duration of the cover needs to be two minutes. Once selected, the participant will be asked to cover the full song for the next round.
3. Once a participant has recorded his/her cover, then he/she has to visit the K-Pop website and fill in the correct details.
4. Contest will allow both group and solo covers
5. Participants can apply for both vocal and dance categories but submission of two different songs in a single category will lead to disqualification.
