Governor advocates fostering bond of friendship
DIMAPUR — Nagaland Governor. La. Ganesan, has urged fostering bond of friendship among different communities and share the cherished heritage for a prosperous and harmonious future.
Ganesan stated this during the Rajasthan state foundation day programme held at Raj Bhavan in Kohima on Saturday in the presence of Rajasthani community residing in Nagaland.
The governor elaborated that Rajasthan is not only the largest state in India but it also holds a profoundly significant place in the socio-cultural, economic and historical landscape of the country. He has termed Rajasthan as a jewel in India’s crown, contributing to the country’s diversity, heritage and strength.
He lauded the business practices and ethics of Rajasthanis, particularly the Marwari’s, who have long served as exemplary models both within and beyond the state, greatly influencing local entrepreneurs and fostering a culture of enterprise and innovation in Nagaland. He added that their notable contributions in commerce and trade have facilitated the availability of goods and services in the region, while their business establishments have provided employment opportunities for the local populace, thus linking Nagaland to broader markets across India.
Earlier, a video presentation on goodwill message of the Governor of Rajastan, Kalraj Mishra, and the cultural heritage and tradition of Rajastan was screened.
The opening remarks was said by Rajesh Soundararajan, secretary to governor, while speech on Rajastan state was delivered by Raj Priy Singh, conservator of Forests, Dimapur, and short speeches were delivered by Basu Damani, general secretary of Shree Marwari Samaj, Dimapur, and vice president BJP Nagaland.
Highlights of the programme included cultural dances performed by the Rajasthani community of Dimapur.
