DIMAPUR —The Gorkha Public Panchayat Kohima (GPPK), Chandmari Gorkha Union Kohima (CGUK), and the Nagaland Gorkha Association (NGA) have expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, NDPP president Chingwang Konyak, and the NDPP for awarding a party ticket to Priya Darshani Rana.
Rana was awarded the ticket to contest the 2024 ULB election from Ward 12 (Upper Chandmari) of the Kohima Municipal Council, stated a press release.
The organisations, emphasising that the GPPK, CGUK, and NGA are non-political organisations of the Gorkha community in Nagaland, stated that the act of awarding the official party ticket to a member of a minority community is an acknowledgement and acceptance of the community ‘who have been recognised as non-Naga indigenous community of Nagaland’.
